Under the supervision of the Vice President of Construction, the Project Director takes charge of projects and project teams from the issuance of plans for bidding. They conduct necessary calls for tenders, place orders as required, and plan to prepare the file for construction. Subsequently, they oversee site management and project delivery. The role requires a high level of autonomy and strong leadership skills.

Role:

  • Keep the Director of the Construction Department informed of project progress, budget tracking, and any significant issues.
  • Final coordination of plans and specifications following issuance for bidding.
  • Ensure cohesion with the development project manager for project execution.
  • Distribute workload to project managers and the coordinator.
  • Establish connections between different departments to ensure proper project execution.
  • Support project managers in resolving any encountered problems to enable them to provide strong leadership to stakeholders.
  • Ensure project progress and adherence to schedules.
  • Ensure budget compliance.
  • Ensure timely submission of payment requests.
  • Ensure timely invoicing.
  • Manage construction teams with the project manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Keep the Director of the Construction Department informed of project progress and any significant issues.
  • Validate the feasibility of projects during the pre-feasibility period.
  • Provide clear directives to professionals and ensure they adhere to project guidelines (technical and budgetary) during site coordination.
  • Prepare overall project schedules with the project manager.
  • Periodically monitor project managers and ensure that each stage is executed.
  • Provide the necessary support to project managers in terms of technical and organizational advice.
  • Coordinate the work of the coordinator.
  • Ensure that the coordinator's work remains aligned with the needs of the project managers.
  • Control budgets during the construction phase.
  • Ensure that end-of-site documents are adequately completed and submitted.

Qualifications:

Education: Technical diploma in architecture or civil engineering and/or a bachelor's degree in engineering or architecture.
Required experience: 7 to 15 years in construction project management.
Software proficiency: Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), MS Project, Autocad, Build/Plangrid, etc.
